Ted Wheeler protesters,  Police declare riot outside Portland mayor's.

Police moved in late Monday night and declared a gathering of protesters outside the Northwest Portland home of Mayor Ted Wheeler a riot.

Hundreds of protesters “celebrated” the mayor’s birthday while wearing party hats, launching fireworks and marching with a large sign that read: “Resign.”

Police said the group broke windows, burglarized a business, and lit a fire in an occupied apartment building.

A garbage can was lit on fire in the middle of the street and then it turned into a party atmosphere as protesters danced to the "Macarena." Protesters then added other pieces of furniture to the flames and started another fire in the street.

Tropical Storm Nana, cyclones active in the Atlantic. Tropical Storm Nana has formed in the Caribbean Sea on Tuesday afternoon and is on a west-northwest track towards Belize and Honduras. Tropical storm watches are already in effect for the coasts of Honduras and Belize. Nana is expected to strengthen as it inches closer to land due to low wind shear and warmer waters, and it could potentially reach hurricane strength before making landfall in Central America. Forecast track for Tropical Storm Nana. Meanwhile off the coast of North Carolina, Tropical Depression Fifteen will stay offshore as it moves to the east-northeast at 14 mph. There's a chance it could organize further into a tropical storm today, but those odds appear low at this time. The depression is more than 100 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
